Chris was born in Middleborough. He lived there for the first 18 years of his life. As a child Chris enjoyed playing different sports mainly golf and rugby. Chis is still a keen golfer and plays off 8!
Chris played for Middlesbrough RUFC through the age groups coached by one of his rugby heroes John Burridge.
In Year 7, Chris was playing football locally until one of his schoolmates suggested coming to train at Middlesbrough RUFC one evening. He fell in love with the sport and never looked back. Chris is very grateful to Middlesbrough RUFC and everyone there who supported him and still do!
Chris joined Leeds Beckett University in 2015 and continued his rugby development. He left in 2021 with a MSc in accounting and finance and a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science.
He joined Hull RUFC in 2019 and had his first taste of men’s rugby in National League 2. After two seasons at Hull, Chris joined the Tykes. After graduating university Chris worked in residential property development and is now a finance broker.
His favourite rugby player/hero is Martin Johnson and/or Bakkies Botha with special guest John Burridge. When he goes to McDonalds he orders a large Big Mac meal, two large fries, 20 Chicken McNuggets with a Coke Zero because he likes to keep an eye on his weight.
