Leeds Tykes is delighted to announce four more players who have committed their future to the club for the 2024/25 campaign.
They are:
Charlie Venables
The utility back scored 13 tries, including 2 hat-tricks, in 17 of the 2023/24 season. Charlie is also our strength and conditioning coach.
Ewan Evans
After signing for the club in October 2023, the back made 6 appearances for the Tykes last season, scoring 3 tries.
We asked Ewan: “How do you look back on your first season with the Tykes and what are you looking forward to next season?” He said: “Similar to the team I think. Personally for me there were lots of positives to take from last season, but still plenty to improve on.
“I’m looking forward to a full pre-season and having some fun both on and off the pitch with the boys!”
Ben Whyman
Last season, the back-rower appeared 4 times for the Tykes.
Tom Collins
The flanker and second-rower made an impressive 24 appearances in our last campaign. Tom, who is Club Captain, scored 1 try.
We asked Tom: “You’ve been at the Tykes now since leaving university. What is it about the club that has encouraged you to stay on?” He replied: “Leeds has become home for me. Initially I joined looking to play with familiar faces as many of my teammates are also ex-Beckett but I stayed around for the environment and the culture that is being created here. It feels like we are at the beginning of a new journey for the club and I just hope to help it along anyway I can.”
Watch out for more retained players’ news shortly.
