Re-signings Jonny Teague, James Magee, Alex Fishwick, Jake Brady

Leeds Tykes is delighted to announce four more players who have committed their future to the club for our 2024/25 campaign.

They are:

Jonny Teague
The openside flanker made 19 appearances last season. He scores 2 tries, including a long-range effort at Otley.

We asked Jonny :”You had a brilliant first season with the Tykes locking down the 7 shirt. Do you think you can top last season? And how has pre season started?”

He replied: “I had a lot of fun and played some really good team rugby last season. As a team and as a player, I would really like to press on, keep improving individually and, hopefully, go one further than last season and win the league.

“Pre-season has started well; all the boys putting in lots of time and effort, and also new heads showing up are adding good energy and competition for shirts.”

James Magee
James made 2 appearances for the Tykes last season, scoring a try. He was on loan at Harrogate for much of our campaign.

Alex Fishwick
Last season, the prop appeared in 12 Tykes’ matches.

Jake Brady
The second rower also played in the back row during his 18 appearances. Jake was named in The Rugby Paper’s National 2 North dream team for the 2023/24 season where he was recognised as a “wonderful, consistent operator in the lineout”.

We put this question to Jake: “You had a spell on the sidelines last year and managed to get back playing for the back end of the season. How are you feeling now and what’s motivated you to pull on the shirt for another season?”

He told us: “I’m feeling better than I did around last Christmas. I’m moving well and I’ve got a good level of fitness. We are into pre-season now and the body is holding up nicely.

“It wasn’t even a decision to carry on playing or stop. It’s such a privilege to me every chance I get to pull on that Tykes badge and wear the shirt of some great players before me.

“I’ve been part of the club for a good few years now and I am fully invested in what we are trying to do on and off field. I will contribute to that however I can. At the moment, a big part of that contribution is still on the pitch.”

Watch out for more player news coming soon.
