Quartet re-sign for Leeds Tykes

By Angela Rimmington Brown
Resignings Ben Dixon, Tom Williams, Aarin Yorke, Will Dennis

Leeds Tykes is delighted to announce four more players who have committed their future to the club for our 2024/25 campaign.

They are:

Ben Dixon
Ben was ever present during our 2023/24 season, scoring 11 tries, including a hat-trick during 26 appearances. Since Ben originally signed for the Tykes, he has pulled the shirt on over 60 times.

We asked Ben: “You are going into your fourth season at the club. How has the team developed over that time?”

He replied: “Last season was obviously disappointing but also our best season in terms of development as a team. We’ve had our ups and downs but it’s the tightest the team has been for years. We’ve learnt a lot as a group from last season and we’re chomping at the bit to push our development even further with a successful pre-season”

Tom Williams
The National League 2 North Inside Centre of the year made 24 appearances last season, scoring 5 tries. Tom is another player who has played over 60 matches for the Tykes.

Aarin Yorke
The hooker found his way over the try line 7 times, including a hat-trick in 19 appearances during the last campaign.

We put this question to Aarin: “You came out of retirement last season to pull on the Tykes badge. What has given you this new lease of life and how did you enjoy your first season back?”

He told us: “It was great to have been back and finally playing for the first team after nearly 16 years gap from playing for the academy. Being in an environment with such a high quality of players and coaches gave me a spring back in my step that was missing. It was a great season, but I’m hoping for a better one this year.”

Will Dennis
The tighthead prop made 15 appearances, scoring one try last season. Will represented Yorkshire in this summer’s Bill Beaumont Senior Men’s County Championship. Will was named in The Rugby Paper’s National 2 North dream team for the 2023/24 season, being recognised as “being great in the loose for a strong Tykes pack, who dominated at scrum time… Dennis was the standout tighthead of the campaign”.

Watch out for more re-signings being announced soon.
